User Guide & Best Practices
Discover how to get great results with Comak, from uploading the right file type to knowing what to do if something doesn’t go quite right.
These are all the types of files you can upload to Comak & convert
To get the best results, it’s important to understand the kind of files you can upload. Comak accepts a variety of input types, from Auto-Save PDFs generated by JIBB, to photos of whiteboards or pieces of paper.
Each file type offers a different level of clarity and structure, which can directly impact how well Comak is able to generate a smart summary or editable diagram. Use the guide below to choose the best upload option for your content and desired outcome.

Photos of Whiteboards
If you're not an existing JIBB user, or only have access to your mobile camera, you can also take a photo of your whiteboard, ensuring your content is legible, well-lit, and framed to fit the whole surface.

Photos of Paper
You can also upload photos of your hand drawn content on any piece of paper too, just make sure your text is legible, the layout is structured and easy to follow, and framed to fit the whole page in the photo.

JIBB Auto-Save PDFs
Best for existing JIBB users already digitizing their whiteboard content. Please note that the current version of Comak will only process the last page of a JIBB Auto-Save PDF.

JIBB Workspace Exports
If you're familiar with using the JIBB Workspace webapp, you can take a screenshot or export a PNG to upload to Comak and convert a specific moment of your whiteboarding session .
Uploading Photos of Your Whiteboard
Make sure the entire writing surface is clearly visible
Stand/zoom in close enough so the writing is readable, but far enough to fit the whole writing surface
Take the photo using natural lighting, avoid using the flash which will create extra glare or shadows
Pro Tip:
Before taking the photo, think about how you’ll use Comak later and draw with structure and clarity to improve accuracy to get the best results.

Uploading Photos of Your Paper
Make sure you fit the whole sheet of paper and all your hand drawn content in the photo so Comak can analyse everything you've drawn
Hold your phone/zoom in close enough so the writing is readable, but far enough to fit the whole writing surface if possible
Take the photo using natural lighting, avoid using the flash which will create extra glare or shadows
Pro Tip:
Before taking the photo, think about how you’ll use Comak later and draw with structure and clarity to improve accuracy to get the best results.

Uploading Your JIBB Auto-Save PDFs
The current version of Comak only processes the last page of your JIBB Auto-Save PDF. This is a temporary limitation, but here’s how to make sure you get the result you want in this scenario:
If the content you want to convert is on the last page of your PDF, you’re good to go ahead and upload it to Comak.
If it’s on an earlier page, here are your options:
Take a screenshot of that page and upload the image.
Split your PDF into separate pages and upload just the one you need.
Stop your JIBB session when you’ve finished drawing the content you want converted — the last page will reflect that moment.
Pro Tip:
Since only the last page is processed, upload a screenshot or single-page PDF if you want to convert a different part of your JIBB session.

Uploading Your JIBB Workspace PNG Exports
If you're an existing JIBB user, you can simply export a PNG snapshot of your session at any time and upload it to Comak.
Start a JIBB Workspace Session and digitize your writing surface content
Click on download icon and then "Export as Image"
Upload your exported JIBB Session snapshot to Comak
Pro Tip:
Make sure you export your session when JIBB has already digitized all the content you want to convert with Comak, and get the best results by erasing any content that you don't want it to include in the conversion.
